Pac-Master 3 Help FAQ When I put the Pac-Master 3 CD-ROM in my CD-ROM drive it fails to load! Try the following:
D:\PM3MENU.EXE (D is the letter of your CD Drive) How do I beat the final boss battle against PacKill? PacKill is a tough cookie. Odds are you won’t beat him the first time you play. But once you learn the waves of enemies it gets a lot easier. Try using the barricades around the room to keep yourself safe. On the final wave before fighting PacKill, try and eliminate as many creepies as you can as soon as you can – they don’t wait for you to take care of the last lot of creepies so don’t let them pile up! As long as you stay out of the way of PacKill’s throwing daggers you shouldn’t have a hard time taking down his health. Time your shots for when he’s in the way of the openings in-between the barricades. His daggers can pass through the barricades so make sure to occasionally time moving to another barricade (he fires every 15 seconds). You can also shoot his daggers and bombs before they get you. Why is that sometimes the slimeys in the final boss level don’t die when I shoot them? This is a bug (haha) that occurs sometimes on certain playthroughs, likely because of the volume of creepies that appear throughout the level not playing nice with the ‘slime’ function. To countermand this we’ve added a secret kill switch where if you hit ‘K’ while they’re onscreen it’ll destroy them and take you to the next wave. The level with the slimeys takes a really long time to scroll from to the level with the brains! We don’t know exactly, but we think it has something to do with the slime they leave behind. If you’re patient it shouldn’t cause any issues other than a slightly longer wait for the next level. I can’t get past the gauntlet levels! The gauntlet levels can be difficult initially. But once you learn where the traps are, how they’re timed, and the safe spots, you’ll have a much easier time with it. I can’t beat the Pac Junior Clone Boss! Shooting at it doesn’t work! Try running around the room and waiting for him to charge at you. There’s spikes in there for a reason. I'm on a level with a secret area but I can't get to it even though I've tried all the walls around it! Sometimes secret areas aren't so simple. Sometimes the entrance to a secret area is hidden elsewhere on the map or might even wrap from one side of the level to the other! Something you can do is after beating a level but before moving onto the next one is retrace your steps and try different walls around the level and once you've found it, remember it for next time. How do I find the secret level? After you beat the Rat Mother but before moving onto the next level, have a look around and see if you can find any secret areas that weren’t previously accessible. How do I beat the secret level? I can’t tell what I’m doing! There’s a pattern to which coloured tiles you can use to go to other coloured tiles. There’s a clue in the secret area where you pick up the key – look at the order of the pellets. Another thing you can do is take out a bit of paper, draw the level out as a map, and fill in where the invisible walls are. There’s a red door on level 14 (the first robot level). What’s it for? See if you can find a key that may fit a red door. Can you play the other half of level 13 (the split prison level)? Yes! If you find and beat the secret level you’ll find out how. How do I get the cheats to work? Huh? What cheats? I know there are cheats. Okay, fine. Once you beat the secret level, complete the game to the end and beat PacKill (you can’t beat the secret level and load a previous save game where you’re about to battle PacKill – it has to be the same playthrough). Once you’ve beaten the game, start a new game and type ‘HEAVY’ and then ‘HORSE’. If you hear a chime after each word, it worked. Each password unlocks different cheats – check your guide very closely to find out what. Why does the Rat Mother sometimes get stuck on the walls? Because she’s a fun loving lady who gets up to all sort of trouble. I have a question not listed here. |
